- Clients looking for flat-fee demand letters go through our intake process.
- If you accept a job, we’ll immediately send you a simple pre-populated demand letter. All you need to do is upload your letterhead, review the letter, and sign it within 24-hours. We’ll send it to the client for review and once it’s approved, mail it off.
- If the recipient responds, send the response to us (including any checks for claim payment/resolution) and we’ll forward it directly to the client
- Note that clients posting jobs on the Legal Letters platform are paying for demand letters only. Clients are strictly advised of the limited scope of the retainer, and instructed that additional contact with you or assistance from you is not covered by their Legal Letters agreement, and will require a separate engagement at additional cost.
- Legal Letters services clients who are not ready for and possibly don’t even need full representation. We understand that going through an intake process and writing a demand letter for a new, potentially one-off client is normally not a good use of your time. However, since Legal Letters handles your client sourcing, intake, drafting, and administrative work for you, you can now help these clients in a matter of minutes. Legal Letters is a straight-forward, quick way to supplement your practice and potentially meet new clients.
- Any lawyer who is an actively barred and in good standing is welcome on the Legal Letters platform.
- Legal Letters caters to clients who need simple demand letters so you do not necessarily need to take jobs that are strictly in your area of practice. Use your judgment and select the jobs you believe are right for you.
- Legal Letters services clients in your state whose claims for money or performance could reasonably be resolved with a demand letter. These most typically include requests for payment of outstanding debt, refund requests, or requests for performance under a contract.
- If we think that a case cannot be resolved with a demand letter or the claim is illegitimate, we will advise the client to seek other legal representation and the case will not show up in the job queue.
You don’t need to commit to any work in order to join the Legal Letters platform. We only ask that if you accept a case, you have it ready for review within 24-hours. Our intake and contract automation process allows us to give you a prepared letter for review, meaning that the review process may only take several minutes. You are of course free to make changes to the letter as you see fit.
Clients understand that their Legal Letters engagement with you is limited to one demand letter. If the client wants your assistance sending more letters, reaching a settlement, or otherwise resolving the case, however, clients are free to continue working with you under a separate retainer agreement.
